Best way to find people to play

Hi Theresa (and Don). Welcome to APC!

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Waterbury Park.  Our Beginners Group list has a column where you can enter a preferred park.  I just checked and didn't see anyone that mentioned Waterbury specifically, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't find anyone interested in playing there.  (Heck, to find an open court sometimes, I'd be willing to go just about anywhere!)

If you'd like to sign up on the Beginners Group list, include Waterbury in your information and see who reaches out.  There are a lot of people who say "Any", myself included, and you can reach out to them.

To start with, just to meet people, you might want to go to one of the Annapolis-centric parks, like Peninsula Park (PAL), or Bestgate, or Truxton (when it reopens sometime in late May).  And once the club's social activities start again, you'll meet players from all over!

Please feel free to contact me if you need any other help. Good luck!

    Hi,

My husband Don and I are pretty new to the club. We live over off Sunrise Beach Road (Waterbury Park) and are looking for pickle ball players. Their are two outdoor courts and they are usually empty. If there is anyone close and interested in playing during the evenings, please let me know. We would love to play.

Hi Edie!  A list has been started!  There is a link to a Google doc on the Beginners' Play page.  I hope to get some people together to play at PAL early this week, and perhaps after the Beginners' Intro class on Thursday night.  That's a bit early for your July 12 timeline but we'll do it again.  (I'm really sorry to hear about your injury but am glad you're feeling up to start playing again.  You're not alone in being out of it!  I had to re-watch a scoring video!)  ;)  Cindy

    Hi Cindy,

I think putting together a list would be a great idea!! I'm kind of back to square one due to a knee injury and Covid and would love to play with beginners (starting the week of July 12.

    Hi Ellen,

I've written you a lengthy email response but wanted to also respond to anyone reading this Forum.  If anyone is looking for beginners to play with, please send me an email at cindymmay55@gmail.com and I'll put together a list and share it with those who have responded.  GAME ON!!!

    Hi,

I am a new member and a beginner new to pickleball.  I know that prior to Covid there were specific days and times recommended for beginner to play.  Until a regular schedule is able to begin again, when and where  is the best time to go to the courts where there may be beginners available to play.  I live closest to the courts on Bestgate Road but would be happy to  go to wherever beginners are playing.

    Thanks for your help!
