Good Afternoon Jay - Under the Annapolis Pickleball Club website  you can click on Let's Play, then click Clinics, then click  Social, then click bottom left box which says Public Intro Course.  Please note, September courses will be listed in the next few weeks.  No August courses are scheduled due to heat and vacations for the volunteer staff.  I would also recommend Severna Park Community Center which also has courses for beginners.

PAL Park in Annapolis is the beginner court.  You are welcome to come to the court and let those playing know you are a beginner and they will help you to start playing.  I would also recommend You Tube videos to get a general sense of the game, scoring and serving, etc.

    Thanks-

    Karen

I'm looking to learn the game as well.  I was registered in the last beginners class that was cancelled due to the heat.  wondering how I can get out there and learn to play the game.

    Hi Cindy,

    Hope you are well.

I just renewed my membership.  I was a member for a short time last year but injured my hand/fingers around July of 2022, playing my first game (right after taking the beginner's class at PAL park).  A sad and disappointment story.

Anyway, I am ready to go again an didn't see anything on the calendars for any classes.  Are there any in mid-August?  If not, can I sign up with other beginner level players at PAL and/or just get a quick refresher session with someone?

I think I am good with my paddle skills (maybe a little rusty).  Most likely just need to hit a few volleys and then rewire my brain on general play and scoring.  I can read up on the rules/scoring beforehand.

Let me know either way, what my options are going forward.

    Regards,

    Mark Gratzer

    Hi Stacy,

Have you been able to get into an Intro class yet?  If not, please feel free to come to PAL during any Open Play time.  Members of the Beginners Group will be happy to help you learn! Check out the Beginners Play page on the APC website (located under the "Let's Play" tab).  You'll find instructions on how to join the Beginners TeamReach group and see when people will be playing.

Hi Cindy. Thanks again for all the help on Sunday. Now I’m looking for an intro class that’s NOT during the day I am working. Joined paid the dues. Now let’s get busy learning. Hahaha

    Hi Robert,

It was a pleasure to speak with you on the phone yesterday and I hope I was able to answer your questions.  Regarding upcoming clinics, all the June clinics were posted yesterday evening.  Please log in to the APC website as a member and click on the Events Calendar to view the upcoming clinics.  (Make sure the June calendar is showing, not May1)

    Best, Cindy
